The mobiles

Just an entry inspired when I was bloghopping to Rev’s.

Warning! This entry could be the most corny post you’ll read here though pretty much every post here is kinda cheesy lolz~

Back in 2002 I got my first mobile phone. Yes I have a phone but I got no mobile number. Particularly because at that time prepaid starter pack cost alot. Averagely RM250 per number and that price tag is insane for a secondary school student like me. Got it from my uncle. Couldnt remember the make but its limited edition version got Siti Nurhaliza initial on the flip cover. Phone got lost actually although i securely hid it inside my wooden locker.

Then after SPM I finally got the courage to ask for a mobile phone from my mother. During the school break saved up some money and I did some survey. So the first mobile phone i bought is the Nokia 3530

The simcard? I took my sister’s number. Lulz. Particularly because my sister got too many number and I kinda like the number arrangement. Kudos to my sister for having a great skill in obtaining a nice number huhu.
Had a blast with this phone, while most of my peers still have black and white pixelated screen, I am on the cutting edge with a 256 colour screen phone and polyphonic ringtones~ Remembers back the time when I was learning at driving school and the phone rang and everyone is amazed on the sweet polyphonic music churned through the speaker. This phone lasted till my first year of studies in Uni.
Mid 2003, most of my peers have already own at least colour screen phone. And thank to my education sponsor for giving me a sum of 3.5k for computer purchase purpose and since I have already own a laptop that time I decided to use part of the fund to purchase a Nokia 6230.

Reason of purchase? I found this phone to cater all my need. The VGA camera, memory expandibility with the memory card slot, rich multimedia option, and better screen.
Sold off this phone for Nokia 6670

Thanks to Ameir who decided to take me to greentown to advice him on which phone to buy for his girlfriend, and I ended up purchasing for myself one. huhu. Reason? even better larger screen, its the Megapixel age, and the phone runs on Symbian which i could find plenty of free-if-you-know-what-i-mean softwares.

Ditch the 6670 for O2 Xda Mini II. I wanted to try the windows mobile during internship. And pretty glad it could sync with the company’s email account. So my morning routine would be plugging in the usb to my phone. Let it download all the email (is not much either) and read it on the go when I went out for breakfast. Hehe

After the Window mobile era I turn myself to the Samsung SGH E720. Its a flipphone, kinda fad that time with koreans and japanese flips. A little bit late joining the flip bandwagon as the earlier version is too fugly to use. Like this phone for the double display, dedicated keys for music though I dont put much music in it to listen to. Huhu.

Then after graduation I bought myself a slider phone, Samsung D900. Reason : razor thin (applicable to that time lah~) sure can find much more slimmer slider at the moment im typing this. Unfortunately slider doesnt fit me well. Ribbons keep on struggling to be replaced. The propietery OS is nice with MMS-like SMS features its just cannot get better. Apart from sluggish performance of processor.

I bought a Nokia e61. Primarily because I dont have internet access at the house Im renting at Lumut, and WiFi is available almost anywhere there. Been eyeing for e71 actually but budget is not on my side. Pretty contented with the QWERTY and large screen.

Nokia 5310 Expressmusic came in to replace the problematic Samsung D900. its a candybar phone, no ribbons involved, its razor thin, have dedicated music player, a 3.5 driver for normal earphone (apart from the popular 2.5 which is not helping on the availability of good earphone) and its an Expressmusic phone.

I replaced the e61 with a Samsung Omnia Pro B7320. It has the same QWERTY keypad though a bit smaller, GPS module which i need and its a window mobile platform so tonnes of *outdated* application is made available at zero pricetag. Grins

The most recent purchase is an LG KM900. A thing i have with capacitive touchscreen got me the urge to have this phone. Camera is decent but the interface is kinda laggy. Holding on to the phone for about 1 month and passed it on to my younger sister.

I wanted to ditch the current Nokia 5310 for an iPhone 4. But series of events have rendered me not possible to do so. Guess I will be getting iPhone 4 on 2011 instead or wait for iPhone 4s to come out first. Lulz

Giving Up

Face it I’m 25. I am not even in a relationship yet alone get married. Ive been telling myself and my mother, that I will get myself a house first before getting a home. But somehow that idea withers with time, particularly the company fault as they tend to relocate me quite often, 14months at Lumut, 8months at Kemaman and now Kuala Lumpur, I got confused on where should i purchase the house. Almost bought 1 at Lumut before i relocated to Kemaman. Almost bought a piece of land here in Kemaman when my mother questioned if I wanted to settle down here. I have another 5 years to go before my target year to get married, so I guess its better to focus on the target to purchase a house now. Considering I will be working in KL, maybe I will try to search the most feasible house there by middle of 2011. So who’s got suggestion for a house with maximum of RM 350k pricetag that is not necessarily be in KL but can reach KL in quite lot of convenient options : LRT, Bus, etc. please do let me know ^_^

Alhamdulillah

011110. Yeah its kinda like a binary code, but its a starting of a new leaf. Finally get the courage to get serious with relationship. But she was like kinda objecting idea of that first step. No I am not angry or anything at her. Just mad at myself for rushing into things. Might be due to lots of my peers have either engaged, married or even had babies already now. Huhu.
If life is like a board game, I’m pretty much left behind the life lane. Lulz.
Starting November I will be working at KL! Finally a chance to taste the fast pace life. Yeay to Sunday weekend (more events i could attend), Nay to working Friday (got used to it), Yeay to choices of food (food here kinda bland actually), Nay to traffic jam and waking up early (i got out of house at 7.30 to arrive office somewhere around 7.45)

The iPhone 4

been hunting like mad for this phone last week. still couldnt get my hands on one. ~_~” there are 2 telcos that are bringing the iphone to our Malaysian shore which is DiGi and Maxis. Though both offer comparable package, i have considered to purchase the iDiGi 88 plan together with the iPhone 4 32gb. Mainly because of these reasons

1) its cheap! RM 170+ for 24 month contract, internet quota of 1gb with 200mins talk seems enough for me. Digi’s plan is better as if you use more than the internet quota, ur connection will be throttled instead of keeping the same speed at the cost of additional charges of PAYU (pay as u use, nothing related to the female lump lulz)
2) have a credit card now. i can charge them but yeah they will deduct almost RM5k from my credit limit. huhu
3) considering exclusive item like iPhone is the least phone to have a price cuts, getting the phone as early as it launches will be beneficial. not forgetting the jailbreak support etc.

sounds good? stop! its not all bright and shiny, since the stock is very effing limited. here’s chronology of my experience trying to purchase one
28/09/2010 – after much consideration i decided to purchase the iPhone from DiGi. used the DiGi chatz service and the operator told me that their Kuantan branch got no stock for 32gb
29/09/2010 – was split between purchasing the iPhone from Kuantan or took a gamble and head to Kuala Lumpur instead. called up customer service. was bit happy to be told by the operator that there is stock for both 32gb and 16gb. i went straight to Kuantan around 4.30pm. (yes my working hour is supposed to end at 5.30pm lulz) when i reached Kuantan Berjaya Megamall the person at the front desk told me that there is not a single iphone in their stock. Told her that ive talked to their customer service operator and she told me to take a number. Shortly after entertained by the customer service and found out that i have to book first and promised that the item shall come by Saturday.
30/09/2010 – called up the customer service again to check if Kuala Lumpur got stock. same reply, you cannot reserve by phone and you have to walk in to their counter. Id say F you DiGi for wanting me to drive straight to KL, having no guarantee i can secure a phone, line up, and possibly find out that I have to sign my name up your F list as the stock that you have is already booked.
01/10/2010 – went to Kuantan for leisure purpose but i do drop by Berjaya Megamall. talked to the customer service and definitely not surprised when she told me stock is not in yet. but what do surprised me is that the next batch will come like 2 weeks more.

today am waiting for the call since at the first place they promised that the item would arrive on saturday. will be giving the pleasure to wait till midnight. if i get no call then FU DiGi. For being the one who raises my hope high and crash it instantly. bwahahaha

60D

Had a 2 weeks Raya holiday… and on the last few days read about a 60D review event which held at Hotel Paragorn JB. Was not sure if I were able to make it since the event is held on Saturday and I normally travel early in the morning back to Kemaman from JB. Decided to start travel a little bit late that day, I signed up for the review session.
It was planned to start at 9.00am. Being the punctual self I drove from home around 8.50am and arrived there around 9.05am. Pretty much disappointed to see that the event starts at 9.30am. Lulz.
Below are some hands on experience of the product.
60D with its first of the kind swivel display

fake tilt shift function – aka the miniature effect

before and after the soft focus function

another two is the grainy bnw and toy camera function which i wouldnt often use i guess. hehe

PROS – What i like about this camera
lighter and smaller than its predecessor 50D
the 4 creative effect seems handy when away from computer
swivel display to get out of normal perspective
the auto level
SD card! hate the CF haha
secondary display for camera setting
built in flash remote
fast! 6.3fps

CONS
4 creative effect and the intermediate level of XXD model canon doesnt tally at all. more appropriate for point and shoot camera i guess
no aluminum / magnesium body
would be better to save abit some money for 7D or use the additional fund for lens when purchasing the 550D

CONCLUSION
a strong camera but doesnt differ much from my current 550D camera. same processor, same sensor. would be a better replacement for 50D though

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2010

Aidilfitri is celebrated to signify our achievement of fasting a month in Ramadhan. Went back to JB on last Thursday thanks to the workload. Managed to complete 1 of 2 required report and I drove back early at 1300hrs. Arrived JB around 1845hrs just in time for break fasting with family.
Raya celebration is a little bit brief this year.

A trip to Kuala Terengganu

Last week during TT, Kamsan asked me if i was interested in joining a break-fast event which will be held at Kuala Terengganu. Im not too certain whether I’ll be able to be make it there or not. During that time both Halifi and Subki was outstation. Signed up as at that time there were around 5 of us who were able to go. Jijo – kamsan – naga and bulat
A last minute change of plan last thursday when both Halifi and Subki want to join the event too. Came up with idea to book a hotel so we can go around Kuala Terengganu for holiday.
Owh i got myself an LG Arena!

We depart from Kemaman around 1130 and arrived there around 130pm. Checked in hotel then we wanders aimlessly. Thanks to GPS for making some suggestion.

Went to the museum only to find that they opened until 430pm only. considered to be a waste since we reached there at 415pm already

Then we went to Masjid Kristal. wanted to see the miniature mosque somewhere near here but turns out the park is closed for visitation during ramadhan month ~_~”

The next day after checking out from hotel we went to Masjid Terapung Sultanah Zariah. Before that we went to Astaka shopping center for Subki to buy apparel to be used during raya.

And the rest is the picture during the break fast event at Hazlan Bistro

guest of honours : Ustaz Azhar himself

Happy birthday!

Sorry I should personally hand it over to you but due to work and location constraint I have to rely on Pos Malaysia to deliver your birthday present. It was supposed to be a suprise, calculating that it will arrive just nice during your birthday. But happens to be Pos Malaysia being the dedicated buds delivered earlier than what have I expected.
At first I tried to contact Farah to get to know your mailing address. But somehow maybe she’s too occupied with her internship hehe.. sorry to bother you first. Then I contacted Khaty if she knew. But at last I asked you directly by mentioning that I intended to send out Hari Raya card instead (yes its a scam. hehe). You must have noticed last 2 days but I purposely try hard not to remember your birthday. I asked if the Hari Raya card to be only in one colour which one you would pick and you mentioned RED. Coincidently the new lineup have two reds, the glossy and matte. U picked glossy and here they are.

Glad that you like them ^_^
